What is Feed The City?

TangoTab launched the first Feed The City, a community engagement event, in January 2015.
While not directly related to the company’s business model, which feeds people in need through the usage of the app, Feed The City has become a TangoTab cornerstone. Volunteers of all ages, races and religious beliefs work together to make meals for people less fortunate, in their communities.

Feed The City has expanded into over 20 monthly events in cities around the country. The event is led and hosted by volunteers who are dedicated to the fight against hunger. Companies, religious groups, schools, organizations have also hosted popup events in their communities.

How to get involved.

What to bring to a Feed The City event.

PLEASE READ ALL OF THIS. Head over to the store and pick up the product. Remember, the more product that is brought… The more meals we will make. We request that each person attending brings some product. You can bring any of the items in any combination, but this is what we recommend...
  • Meat: Please try to make this turkey, chicken or ham (we do not prefer bologna); Unfortunately, we cannot accept any meat from the deli counter
  • Cheese: 16 slices each of cheese (no spicy cheese please!)
  • Bread: Bring a loaf that you would make sandwiches; Btw we definitely prefer wheat
  • 1 bottle of yellow mustard
  • 1 bag of Halos, Cuties or tangerines
  • 1-2 bags of chips (not the individual bags)
  • 100 count of Sandwich Bags (make sure they zip)

*Note: The event in Plano, TX is peanut butter and jelly sandwiches
*Note: The event in Seattle, WA you must donate to our partner organization prior to the events

TRY TO BRING AN EQUAL AMOUNT OF MEAT, CHEESE, AND BREAD.
Additionally, we pack snack bags made with baby carrots, raisins, chips and cookies in a sealable bag.

Do we need to register?

No you do not. Show up the day of the event. Put going on Facebook, because it helps spread the message.

Yes you can. Just fill out the form below and we will get that process started.

How many people can I bring?

As many as you want.
There is no limit on how many people can participate in a Feed The City event.

Can we donate money?

Because of the nature of the event, we prefer that you bring the product to the event rather than donate money.

Is there an age limit?

Not at all. Anyone can join.
We have had 3 year olds and 103 year olds participate.

Can I leave early?

Yes you can. The event lasts around 1.5 hours and we take a group pic art the end.
